It really 'Delivers'

My pregnancy was fairly uneventful. I gained 9kg all told, had no morning sickness, but was really tired. I went to antenatal swimming classes where most of the other mums already had children and gave me some great advice. One of the most important things they told me was about using positive affirmations during birth. Your body knows what to do. Go with your natural instincts. When I eventually went into labour I selected a couple of affirmations in my LS Gift Box and recited them over and over again. It became trance like for me and really helped. The LSGB really delivered (excuse the pun) in an empowering way.
An awesome present!

A Glass Half Full

After two children, and one on the way I was fearful of the birth. My mum bought me a Little Sprowtz Gift Box to alleviate my fear.

It really was empowering! It really is all about the approach. Is the glass half full or half empty. The birth of baby number three, was completely different and you could even say enjoyable. Thank you Little Sprowtz for making me see the glass as half full.

The 'Can - Do' Gift Box

I started to feel contractions at about 2am on Wednesday 3rd October - not intense ones, just like niggles, like period pains in my back. So I kind of suspected 'something' was happening. I spent the next couple of hours trying to time my contractions, to see if I could see a pattern emerge.

They were getting more painful, so I phoned the maternity ward at my hospital, to see what they suggested. They said if I was getting pain every 3-5 minutes and wasn't sure then to come in for a checkup.

By the time we were in the car, the pain was getting really bad around my back - I had the urge to grip on tight to something, to wade through the pain, so the Little Sprowtz Concentration balls got a work out!

When I got to the hospital I had the complete once over and told I was only 3cm dilated so it was going to be quite a way off yet.

Pete and I went for a walk around the car park and hospital grounds - slow going, but a good distraction. The next few hours were spent pouring through my LS gift box looking for ideas. The LS massage ball was my saviour, with Pete rolling it over the small of my back with the -Mother's Massage Oil for about 2 hours. The pain was really intensifying, and I started to get really cranky. I thrust my pain management card at Pete and he was brilliant. He just took charge and half carried me into the shower and put the hot water on my back, exactly what I wanted to do but couldn't speak.

After 6 hours baby Alyssa came into the world!
I cannot describe the overwhelming sense of love that I felt for her as soon as I held her.

I also couldn't believe how proud I was of what I had achieved. Thank you Little Sprowtz for creating your 'Can - Do' Gift Box. It definitely was the most memorable baby shower gift I received.
